Gmail Updater - Possible Bug?

I tried to build an email labeling flow and got it to run through to the last step, where I got an error from the Gmail Updater node, saying that the labels I wanted to create didn’t exist. However, I personally created the labels in my Gmail account minutes before (and verified they’re there plus manually assigned them to a few emails) so I know they do exist. When I tried to debug with Gummie, it said that I had other labels that seemed to be from some kind of internal Gumloop account instead of my own? Screenshots below and here’s the run ID.

Hey @marie! If you’re reporting an issue with a flow or an error in a run, please include the run link and make sure it’s shareable so we can take a look.

  1. Find your run link on the history page. Format: https://www.gumloop.com/pipeline?run_id={{your_run_id}}&workbook_id={{workbook_id}}

  2. Make it shareable by clicking “Share” → ‘Anyone with the link can view’ in the top-left corner of the flow screen.

  3. Provide details about the issue—more context helps us troubleshoot faster.

You can find your run history here: https://www.gumloop.com/history

Figured it out – had to refresh the dropdown in the Updater node to get my actual labels to show up, then toggle back to it taking the dynamic input.

Hey @marie – Thank you for the update! The Gummie response is unexpected here, do you remember if this flow was cloned or duplicated from somewhere, perhaps a template?

Yep, it was cloned from a template. Still strange though since I ended up deleting most of the nodes and starting from scratch, and of course had my Gmail account connected.

Yes definitely not expected, I’ll try to reproduce this on my end right now. Thank you again for flagging this!
