I didn’t give agent. When I don’t give the agent a prompt, I will still say that I am gumloop’s artificial intelligence. Normally, I should say that I am XX model.
Hey @wzxwhxcz,
This is actually intentional behavior, not a bug. Every Gumloop agent has a lightweight default system prompt that identifies it as a Gumloop assistant. This ensures the agent can respond helpfully even when no custom instructions have been added yet.
The good news is you have full control over this. The AI Instructions field (also called the system prompt) is where you define your agent’s identity, tone, and behavior. Instructions are prepended to every conversation.
To change how the agent introduces itself, simply add your own instructions in the agent’s configuration. For example:
-
“You are a helpful assistant powered by [model name].”
-
“You are Aria, a friendly customer support agent.”
Once you provide custom instructions, they completely override the default behavior.
