Can you retrieve Hyperlinks from an email?

Background

I’m using the outlook reader. I want to get hyperlinks from the email. Is this possible?

Currently, it looks like the node outputs the Message Body in text only?

My business use case for this is that I need to download the PDF from the link and then do document extraction on it.

Gummy’s Suggestion

I tried implementing Gummy’s suggestion too, but it only grabbed the text content of the hyperlink, not the embedded link.

Expected output

The pre-signed S3 url inside the “Download Link” text. E.g.

https://lexi-test-files.s3.us-west-2.amazonaws.com/yc-app.pdf?resp......

Hey @shawnbuilds! If you’re reporting an issue with a flow or an error in a run, please include the run link and make sure it’s shareable so we can take a look.

  1. Find your run link on the history page. Format: https://www.gumloop.com/pipeline?run_id={your_run_id}&workbook_id={workbook_id}

  2. Make it shareable by clicking “Share” → ‘Anyone with the link can view’ in the top-left corner of the flow screen.

  3. Provide details about the issue—more context helps us troubleshoot faster.

You can find your run history here: https://www.gumloop.com/history

@Wasay-Gumloop any thoughts on this?

Hey @shawnbuilds - Can you share the email looks like from your Outlook UI? Its likely some formatting which we don’t support yet. Can you also please try on another email to test this?

Normal hyperlinks appear like this:

It looks like this is just an issue with Outlook. I sent the same email back to my Gmail address and it was able to retrieve the hyperlink. For the use case I’m assessing, Outlook is a hard requirement though, so it would be great to add this feature to the outlook reader!

@Wasay-Gumloop

Gotcha, thank you! We’ll look into this and add it to our backlog. Will probably be a few weeks till we get to this though since the backlog is pretty dense right now.

In the meantime, I’m happy to brainstorm ideas to workaround this.

@shawnbuilds Can you also share all the run links for these issues from the https://www.gumloop.com/history page - it’ll help us investigate when we get to this.

Sure no worries. Open to brainstorming ideas. I guess the simplest I can think of is forwarding to a dummy Gmail address?

Here’s the outlook run:

Yeah that would be the best approach.
