So I am trying to get my final PDF report to stop giving me errors all over my document:
You’re probably thinking, “What could be worse than nukes?†I
“Muffin, let’s
I’ve tried using find/replace and have a substantial list of replacements but it continues to give me these corrupted characters throughout my documents.
Please help. I’ve spent days trying to get this to work.
EDIT: My original document comes from google docs if that affects anything.
Hey @RedPenPolish! If you’re reporting an issue with a flow or an error in a run, please include the run link and make sure it’s shareable so we can take a look.
Find your run link on the history page. Format: https://www.gumloop.com/pipeline?run_id={{your_run_id}}&workbook_id={{workbook_id}}
Make it shareable by clicking “Share” → ‘Anyone with the link can view’ in the top-left corner of the flow screen.
Provide details about the issue—more context helps us troubleshoot faster.
@Wasay-Gumloop Here you go. It’s happening on all my workbooks. Ignore the “test” sheet. But all the others by the time I get the PDF it has tons of corrupt characters. Very frustrating.
Sorry for the second comment, I forgot to add the @Wasay-Gumloop so Im not sure if it told you I had made a post and didn’t want you to miss this. Thanks again for your help. It really means a lot.
Hey @RedPenPolish – Thank you for sharing the link, I was able to reproduce the issue and have created a ticket to improving the parsing here when generating a PDF file. This seems to be happening with certain characters only.
In the meantime, I’d recommend using the ‘Google Doc Writer’ node instead. Not ideal but its going to be a lot more robust and flexible.
So if I do that, the problem is I cannot get Google Doc Writer to produce a final produce that keeps the original books formatting and keeps the professional report like the generating a PDF did.
Is there another solution? I am trying to make a workflow that helps me edit my book, but putting through 80,000 words is challenging due to caps. Is there a better method than chunking? Chunking seems to ruin formatting.
Thank you for your help, this has been a pretty frustrating process, but Im excited to get it fixed.
Hey @RedPenPolish , the team is working on a fix and I’ll update you as soon as it’s out.
In the meantime, if the previous solution didn’t work, you can try building a custom node with the parameters you need to generate a PDF without the character issues.
@Rithen_Gumloop Ok great! Thank you so much for the quick update! I’m looking forward to the fix, it’ll make all the difference
Also, side note, is there a way to work directly with your team to build out a few workflows? I understand this will have a cost, but I wasn’t sure if this was possible. I’d prefer to get this right quickly so I can move on with my projects.
