I’ve been experiencing problems with the chats that I have made in the past and not being able to see any of the messages within it when I go back to it in history. When I try sending in a new message, it just creates a new chat. Is this something from my side that is causing this problem or is the website having problems?
Hey @Kathy_Mathy – Thanks for reaching out. Just to make sure we’re on the same page – on Gumloop, each conversation with an agent is its own separate chat. When you click into one from your history, it should load all the previous messages from that conversation. Starting a brand new message from the agent’s main page will create a new chat (that’s expected behavior), but if you’re inside an existing chat and sending a message there, it should continue that same conversation.

To help troubleshoot what you’re seeing, a couple quick questions:
- When you go to your chat history and click on an old conversation, does the page load but show no messages, or does it not open at all?
- When you say sending a new message creates a new chat – are you typing into an existing conversation that’s already open, or starting from the agent’s main page?
- What device/browser are you using (desktop, phone, etc.)?
Any extra detail/screenshots/links will help us figure out what’s going on!
- It let’s me open old conversations but no messages are popping up.
- I’m typing into existing conversations to continue it, but it just creates a new one instead of continuing with the old one.
- I am using my phone right now, but when actually using the website for chats, I use my tablet.
