Unable to use outputs from custom node

Hey!

I have built a custom node which uses the Apollo API to search for people with specific job titles. There are 4 outputs for this node: first name, last name, job title and company.

I would then like to take these outputs and input them into a google sheet.

However, the node does not let me select any of the outputs from the custom node or drag and drop them into a G sheet writer. When hovered over, the cursor shows a circle with a line through it. It allowed me to do it just once then stopped…

I would upload a SS but the cursor is hidden.

I have done it in isolation, connected it to other nodes, but it remains the same.

Any idea why this is?

Hey @ZaidLyfe! If you’re reporting an issue with a flow or an error in a run, please include the run link and make sure it’s shareable so we can take a look.

  1. Find your run link on the history page. Format: https://www.gumloop.com/pipeline?run_id={{your_run_id}}&workbook_id={{workbook_id}}

  2. Make it shareable by clicking “Share” → ‘Anyone with the link can view’ in the top-left corner of the flow screen.

  3. Provide details about the issue—more context helps us troubleshoot faster.

You can find your run history here: https://www.gumloop.com/history

Hey @ZaidLyfe – Thank you for flagging. Just to confirm, you’re not seeing the side-menu from the screenshot below when you hover over the node?

Would you be able to share a screen recording? Also, can you try clearing your cookies and trying again?

If that doesn’t work, please email me at wasay@gumloop.com and we schedule some time to troubleshoot this live.

Hey Wasay,

I am seeing the side menu, however unable to drag/interact with any of the outputs.

It won’t let me upload a screen recording here so I’ve emailed it to you instead.

Have also cleared cookies and re-logged in but still the same

Appreciate the video @ZaidLyfe – The issue is happening because the output isn’t actually connected to anything, so there’s nothing to drag the output badge into. Once you connect the outputs to a node, you should be able to drag the badge from that connected node’s menu.

Check it out here.

Thanks for this Wasay - it seems to be working now.

Previously, even though I had it connected to a G sheet writer node, it still wouldn’t let me select it. All good for now!
